How to Bag a Great Bargain Getaway

When it comes to finding a great holiday that won’t cost the earth, there are plenty of ways to find a summer sizzler that ticks all the right boxes.

Package holidays are one of the best and most hassle-free ways to book a bargain break, especially if you book with a trusted tour operator like Thomas Cook, because you can jet off safe in the knowledge that all of your travel essentials are covered. With standard package holidays, your return flights, nightly accommodation, and local resort transfers are all included in the cost of the booking, and you’ll have the services of a locally based representative too. On top of that, many package holidays come with specific board basis arrangements like full-board or all-inclusive, which covers some of your meal requirements too.

One of the best ways to actually find one of these low-cost package deals is to search for late departures. That is, look for holidays that are departing within the next few weeks. This is when tour operators traditionally lower the cost of their holidays in order to entice those last few customers and to get as many last-minute bums on seats as possible. You’ll still get the same holiday, but at a fraction of the original price. Many cheap Thomas Cook holidays are sold in the form of late deals, and some aren’t even particularly “late” – for instance, you might find some tempting offers on holidays departing two or three months away, which gives you a little bit of time to save some spending money too!

Of course booking late deals is not a failsafe option, as not every holiday is discounted and availability is strictly limited. But it can be a great way to bag an affordable holiday without compromising on value.
