Discuss: Where Do You Most Want to Return?

The ruins of Ephesus and the Library of Celsus in southern Turkey.

Everyone has a travel destination they want to return to. It doesn’t matter if you’ve only traveled to a few places or many, we all have a destination where we just didn’t get enough time to see and do everything we wanted to.

So, for this week’s travel discussion, I want to know what destination you wish you could return to.

For me, the place I most want to visit again is Turkey. That’s not to say that Turkey was my favorite country I’ve ever been to (that would be South Korea or Laos), though it is pretty high on the list. I want to return to Turkey because I feel like I missed out on so much while I was in the country.

I had about 2 weeks to spend in Turkey, and made good use of my time, visiting five different cities while there. However, I left the country with a feeling that I had only cracked the surface. With so many ancient ruins, beaches, and dramatic landscapes to explore, Turkey is somewhere that I have to return to in the not too distant future.

What about you? What is that one destination that left you wanting more? Let us know in the comments section below.

For me, the one destination that left me wanting more was Santa Cruz la Laguna, Lago Atitlan in Guatemala. We only had 4 days planned there, ended up staying a week.. and have been wanting to go back ever since. It’s not as much a feeling of ‘having missed out’ as just feeling completely & utterly content and at home. A place to just ‘be’.

    Rome, for me. Always, Rome…

  3. For me it’s Brazil. It’s always great to visit family who lives so far away, plus I haven’t even scratched the surface in that country! I’d love to travel down the Amazon next time I go back. 🙂

Great question! I totally understand your position on Turkey, it seems one can never get enough of that country. For me I would have to say India, especially southern India. Don’t get me started in what I want to see, Goa, Kochi, Madurai, Kerela! And I know I’ll get back one day!
