Photo of the Week: The Beaches of St. Thomas, USVI

The view from my hotel room on St. Thomas, USVI.

Unless you are in the southern hemisphere or one of the lucky ones experiencing the heat wave in the U.S. right now, you’re most likely cold. When I’m cold, I love thinking about the warm places that I have been, and one of those places is the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Sitting in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands consist of seven large islands and many more smaller islands split between the United States and Great Britain. Of these, the most visited island is St. Thomas.

I had an opportunity to visit St. Thomas a few years ago for my brother’s wedding. It is a beautiful island with enchanting beaches and crystal-clear blue water. While I’ve never visited anywhere else in the Caribbean, I found St. Thomas to be very inviting.

The picture below was taken from the back balcony of my hotel room on the island. I love looking at it during the cold months to remind me that it’s warm somewhere. Why do I torture myself like that?
